Alexandra (she/her) comes to intimacy coordination with an extensive background as an actor on set and a passion for good storytelling on screen. She has been working member of SAG-AFTRA for over 25 years and was a series regular for 6 years on Xena Warrior Princess. She also has a deep background in dance and movement, having trained with American Ballet Theater and performed with the Royal Ballet. She has an intuitive understanding of the actor’s process through movement and the body in addition to years of experience as a working actor on set.
Alexandra knows firsthand the challenges an actor faces when signing a nudity rider, and the anxiety that can arise when performing an intimate scene on set. She also knows from experience that the most dynamic, passionate work happens when the actors feel confident and safe. She also has worked as a writer and producer and understands the process of filmmaking from development through post. She has a great respect for the work of each department, the complexities involved in collaboration, and the need for work to flow efficiently on the day.
A graduate of Brown University with a concentration in Media and Culture, Alexandra studied to become a certified Intimacy Coordinator with Amanda Blumenthal, pioneer in the field and the founder of Intimacy Professionals Association. Alexandra is also trained in Mental Health First Aid and Bystander Intervention, and is excited to bring her experience and expertise to this work. By creating an environment that promotes communication, confidence, and creativity, Alexandra empowers the director, actors, and entire crew to do their best work and tell the most powerful story.
